1st Century Faith
One of the first questions another Christian will ask you is “What is your faith?”
At Patmōs we are just Christians trusting in Jesus. In that trust we embrace a balance of the fruit and gifts of the Holy Spirit, the mercy and love of the Father and the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
1st Century is just a descriptive term to describe the vision of the Patmōs Church Body. 1st Century… because God wants a fresh start for those who suffer from the methods and abuses of religion. 1st Century… because so many believers have an ache in their hearts for their place in God’s body. 1st Century… because in the 1st century believers knew God first hand and were head over heels in love with Jesus.
One should not confuse the terms faith and community. 1st Century Community was a result of those Christians trusting Jesus for that day and that hour. Modern Christian Communes have failed primarily because God didn't plan for that type of community to be universal. 1st Century Faith trusts Jesus's leading for today's Christian Community.
For 20 centuries the Church has survived because of 1st Century Faith. We live in a day that God desires a place where modern doctrinal emphases are again balanced so that Jesus might receive His inheritance, “The Glory in the Saints.”

| 21st Century Worship
21st Century Worship is just another way to say contemporary. It goes well as a counter point with 1st Century Faith.
The Church has rich traditions in praise and worship. None of these are discounted in 21st Century Worship. A distinction should be made that true worship is not singing about what a person or a Church has done or is going to do for God. Psalmist Kevin Elliot once said “the best worship is when the Church sings songs that the Holy Spirit likes.” Maybe God will help us to understand that more at Patmōs.
Church Government
Patmōs Church is based on and upholds the inerrancy & authority of the Bible. Practices, customs and ceremonies are and will be measured by Bible standards. Please refer to Church Government, by Don Loose, in the Mountain Stream Library for a generalized commentary on how the Bible applies to the functions of this Church body.
